VACANCY DETAILS: 1. (Vacancy No. 17061101410) Seventy-two Senior Grade of Indian Information Service Group ‘B’ (Gazetted), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, (SC-11, ST-05, OBC-20 & UR-36). Of the seventy-two posts, two posts are reserved for Physically Challenged Persons with disabilities i.e. Blindness or Low Vision viz. Blind (B) or Partially Blind (PB) or Hearing Impairment viz. Deaf (D) or Partially Deaf (PD). The posts are suitable for Physically Challenged Persons with disability viz. Orthopaedically Handicapped/Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy with Both legs affected but not arms (BL) or Both arms affected (BA) or One Leg Affected (Right or Left) (OL) or One arm affected (R or L) (OA) or Stiff back and hips (cannot sit or stoop) (BH) or Both legs and both arms affected (BLA) or Muscular weakness and limited physical endurance (MW) or One Leg and One Arm Affected (OLA) or Blind (B) or Partially Blind (PB) or Hearing Impairment viz. Deaf (D) or Partially Deaf (PD). The posts are permanent. The posts are located in different Media Units of the Ministry all over the Country. Pay Scale: Rs.9300-34800/- in PB-2 with Grade Pay of Rs.4600/- (Pre-revised) corresponding to Level.7 in Pay Matrix. The post belongs to Indian Information Service, Group ’B’ – Gazetted. Age: 30 yrs. QUALIFICATIONS: ESSENTIAL: (A) EDUCATIONAL: (i) Degree of a recognized University or Institute; (ii) Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism/ Mass Communication from a recognized University/Institution. OR Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from a recognized University/Institute. The Candidates must have studied concerned Indian language upto 10th Class. (B) EXPERIENCE: Two years experience of journalistic, publicity or public relation work in Government Department/Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Organisation/News agency/ Newspaper registered with the Registrar of News papers of India (RNI) / any other Listed Private Organization. NOTE: The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Commission in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection, the Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. DUTIES: The officers are required to prepare press notes, publicity materials, editorial material and analysis of Press Comments on current topics, compilation of news bulletins and reporting of news for broadcasting, monitoring of news bulletins by foreign broadcasting stations. Organising Exhibitions, writing scripts/captions, maintenance of Register on newspapers in India. Preparation of research/reference paper and background note in the field of history, economic and current events for use of press, radio, writers etc. HQ: New Delhi (but Incumbents recruited are liable to serve anywhere in India). The posts are located in different Media Units of the Ministry all over the country.
